the Un-American committee

What was the purpose of this group?

The house un-American activities committee HUAC was created in 1938 to investigate alleged disloyalty and subversive actives on the part of private citizens public. employees and those organizations suspected of having communist ties. Reorganized from its previous incarnations, as the fish committee’s chairman the cantankerous martin dies Texas HUACs strident attracts on the Roosevelt administrations. prior to the outbreak of the war did not suit the political mood of a nation. That was largely in favor of the FDRs leadership. All that had changed n the postwar atmosphere of fear and contempt or the Soviet Union. Which the HUACs activities commanded broad popular support and consistently attracted major headlines.

In October 1947 10 members of the Hollywood film industry publicity denounced the tactics employed by the house un-American activities committee HUAC. An investigative committee of the US House of Representatives. During its probe of alleged communist influence in the American motion picture business.

This prominent screenwriter and directors who became known as the Hollywood ten Received jail sentences and were banned from working for the major Hollywood studios. Their defiant stands also debate over the controversial anti-communist crackdown that swept through the United States in the 1940s and early 1950s.

in the 1940s and 1950s why did the HUAC go after people who worked in Hollywood

Besides the Hollywood, ten other members of the film industry will be alleged communist ties were later banned from working for the big movie studios. The Hollywood blacklist came to an end in the 1960s. the house un-American activates committee was charged with investigating allegations of communist influence and subversion in the US During the early years of the cold war. This reputation originated in the 1930s when the economic difficulties of the great depression increased the appeal of the leftist organizations for many struggling actors and studio workers.

Martin Luther King Jr.

The person who has changed my life and others is Martin Luther king Jr.

The questions I have asked myself:

  • What did martin Luther king Jr. do and how did he do it
  • What did martin Luther king Jr. do for a living?
  • Why do we have a holiday for martin Luther king Jr.?

The answers that I have found are:

  1. Martin Luther king Jr. was the most important voice of the American civil rights movement which worked for equal rights for all races
  2. Martin Luther king Jr. was a Baptist minister and social activist who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968
  3. Martin Luther king day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January it celebrates the life and achievements of martin Luther king Jr. and influential civil rights leader

In Mr. Somers class we have been reading a story about a teacher who changed a student life. And that story inspired me to write about the great Martin Luther King Jr. He tried to change the world for the betterment of all people. He was a civil rights leader. He wanted everybody to be equal and together, not segregated. We are no longer segregated, and I’m not sure if what he did back in the early 1950s changed civil rights as much as we would’ve hoped. The reason I think Dr. Martin Luther King’s work has not greatly impacted race relations is because we still have to deal with everything that he tried to stop in the 1950s.

Racism, for instance, is still very much the same for example racist slurs etc. I would’ve thought that this would have stopped by 2017. I think that in this day and time it’s not as bad as it use to be, but it is still going on in the world. To me, I really feel like Caucasian people just feel like they are better then other races, especially African Americans. If a Caucasian person would go in to apply for a job, or for college, and an African American had the same qualifications the African American wouldn’t get that job or into the college they wanted. This may be simply because of the color of their skin. That is wrong! I feel like white people have a bigger advantage over black people.

I feel like some white people just get what they want without having to work as hard as an African Americans and other races. I just feel like if we all set aside the white and the black issue and just focus on what’s right; the world would be great again. We need to all unify to become as one and to be a strong nation. America shouldn’t be a divided nation.

social media

I think something that causes conflict in the environment that we are in today that brings conflict in my life and others is the society that we live in today and social media. and I really believe with all these social media programs we have in this society keep me from being great in life and others.

One way society keeps people from doing great things is through social media. It seems that social media is what the world focuses on. Every time you look around somebody is on social media – it’s like a drug for them or something. Social media has ruined people’s brains. People feel that they have to keep up with the trends that social media tells them to keep up with. People have to be what they know they are not, trying to fit in with the latest trends. People are taught to act like other people, walk like other people, talk like other people, and dress like other people they see on social media. If people don’t follow their example, they won’t want to hang out with them.

Social media should not define the person that you are. People take social media as a place where they can just talk to people any kind of way just because they are not like them. People on social media like to belittle people to make them feel small. Some people get on social media to just bully other people. I just feel like if we didn’t have social media the world would be a better place. No a days you can do a lot of bad stuff on social media people can get your information off of your social media account, find out where you live, and they can hack into your pictures and messages and post some pictures that you didn’t want the world to see on your page. Now in day people don’t care what they post on social media they don’t care what they say or who see what they put on their social media. Just think when you get ready to go to a college or apply for a job and the look at your social media accounts and see all the bad stuff you had posted said or down on there you wouldn’t be able to get that job or get accepted into that college. The administrators for that college and your boss will be like I don’t want that person working for me look how she/he talks look what they post. I don’t want my place of business or college to be represented like that.If you didn’t have social media in this day in age we wouldn’t be hearing about people killing their selves over something that was said to them on social media. before social media, we didn’t have to worry about girls/boys being killed or something else done to them just as much as its done today because they thought that they were talking to somebody the same age as them on social media. We need to take a stand on these social media accounts it just being getting out of hand. Kids don’t even go outside anymore, without people having their phones to get on social media they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves. Some people don’t even know how to talk to people with their phones or social media. They don’t know how to have a full conversation with full sentences. So if we came together as a nation to stop these entire social media accounts the world would be a better place. And people with being better individuals.

How the Tundra and to “Build A Fire” Are Connected to Each Other

People live in the tundra but large population oscillations often occur because of the extreme cold according to the arctic human development report about 4 million people live in the artic areas

This topic was chosen because in the movie, “To Build a Fire.” It was extremely cold and in the tundra it is extremely cold as well. This shows how the topics connected to each other.

The story that the class has been reading is called to build a fire. This story is about a men traveling through an extreme cold drought trying to get to his friends and find gold.

This story relates to the research that deals with a lot of climate changes as the story goes into detail. The tundra also has different climate changes as it goes through different seasons.

This article is reliable because I got it from a great website about the frozen tundra. The reason you know it is a reliable site is because it gave me accurate information written by an expert that has helped me connect the story and the movie together.
